Superman is one of the earliest examples of a super hero that can fly.
Flight is ubiquitous and generally comes as part of a superpower package. For example, the entire Legion of Super-Heroes (DC) can fly because of their Legion Flight Ring. However, there are some heroes whose only and/or main power is the ability to fly and are listed here.
The Arabian Knight (Marvel) has a magic flying carpet in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe V1 #1.
The Black Condor (DC) can fly in DC Who’s Who V1 #2.
The Red Raven (Marvel) can fly and his origin story is told in Marvel Premiere #29.
